This article is the first part of a two-part article
on Pluto’s entry into Capricorn. The first article provides a general
overview of the subject, while the second article focuses on specific
processes and planetary alignments that will be of use to anyone who is
participating in the coming earth changes and the process of soul making
on planet earth. While this article stands on its own, the reader will
benefit from two previous articles, Soul Making and the Heart
of the Galaxy, and Pluto in Sagittarius, both
available at franciscaulfield.com/articles.html.
Pluto, the planet of soul making, having sojourned through fiery Sagittarius,
the sign of the Centaur, symbolizing the vision quest for the past twelve
years, enters Capricorn, the sign of the Goddess Gaia and Mother Earth,
on January 25th. Pluto will spend four months in Capricorn before moving
back into Sagittarius in middle of June. It will reenter Capricorn in
late November where it will remain until 2024. While Pluto will be of
great personal significance for all Aries, Cancer, Libra, and Capricorn
planets, points and angles, it also exerts a powerful and life changing
influence affecting everyone on the planet in one way or another.
Combining the symbolism of Sagittarius, the Archer, and Pluto, the alchemist
of the Soul, one would hope that humanity and individual human beings,
have learned its soul making lessons (Pluto), completed the Vision Quest
(Sagittarius), and are now ready and capable of hitting the bull’s
eye of truth with its arrows. Arrows are your thoughts, beliefs and intuitions.
They symbolize how to reach targets and the goals that you have set for
yourself. If not on the mark, you will more than likely rain down destruction
or deception (Pluto) with arrows, thoughts and beliefs that fly off in
any and all directions (Sagittarius), as has been the case, especially
within the mass consciousness. For example, all the religious and sectarian
wars and conflicts are an example of this.
In other words there is a big difference between Soul Vision (Pluto in
Sagittarius) and what you believe to be true, the belief systems (also
Sagittarius) that are dominated by the personality. By now we should at
least know the difference, recognize our Soul’s Vision and the true
visionaries from those who are lacking in Soul Truth. To not know the
difference is to engage in and be trapped by destructive, unconscious
behaviors.
Suffice to say that if we venture into the world with the intent on changing
it according to our ideals (Sagittarius), we best come with our own medicine
bag well stocked. It is all too easy to get caught up in the world mind
and lose our way. Unless we have completed the tasks of Pluto in Sagittarius,
i.e. acquiring our personal soul vision, better to take the time when
Pluto revisits Sagittarius in mid June through late November to complete
our vision quest and temporarily leave the task of building a new earth
to those who have accomplished the Vision Quest and is a skilled archer.
It will become increasingly hard for anyone to participate in the world
without having a personal soul vision for the future that one can align
with in order to make a contribution to the world soul. Otherwise you
run the risk of remaining in reactive mode at the mercy of destructive,
personality (Pluto) forces unable to tap into the regenerative (the positive
face of Pluto) forces of the Soul. Pluto destroys anything and everything
that is outworn, corrupt, and personality driven so that the soul may
come forth. It does this by drawing our disowned shadow energies in the
form of people, circumstances or events wherein a power struggle is likely
to take place. The end result is the recovery of our intrinsic Soul Power.
As always we begin with healing our self. Let’s start with the obvious.
1) In practical terms then, what have you learned over the past twelve
years from your metaphysical explorations, divinations and vision quests
(Sagittarius)?
2) What are your Soul’s Vision, life’s purpose and destiny?
If you don’t know this, consult with someone, myself for instance,
who can help.
3) More importantly, how will you actualize and manifest it? Again consult
with a mentor, ally, or guide for assistance.
The symbol of Capricorn is the sea goat and not merely the mountain goat.
The latter is consumed with climbing the mountain of success and reward.
The sea goat, in contrast, is also connected to the ocean of existence,
where it remains immersed in the mysteries of life. When Capricorn is
consumed with material advancement and advantage alone, it disconnects
from its Source and becomes materialistic, selfish, and separate. This
is the current dilemma of our modern world and has led to the separation
from and destruction of the earth and ignorance of natural law and the
environment.
While Capricorn and its ruling planet Saturn have come to be associated
with the patriarchy, its original meaning as a feminine earth sign is
that of the Earth Mother, the Goddess Gaia, the giver of natural law and
order. There are major three areas of healing that are significant and
necessary: A New Vision, a New Humanity, and a New Earth. The following
presents a thumbnail sketch.
1) A New Vision: Capricorn is concerned with stature,
organization of material resources, wealth-building, and advancement in
the world. It rules corporations, hierarchies, politics, banking, the
patriarchy, governments, and the establishment. Unfortunately the current
paradigm is soul deadening. Be prepared for major changes in all these
areas and arenas. Before there are breakthroughs there must be breakdowns.
The danger here is that fear will obscure the vision but remember that
our personal and collectives fears must surface in order to be healed!
The ecological, environmental green movement has been gaining momentum
since the 60’s. Colleges and universities are now offering degrees
in these areas. Already we see signs of new structures, foundations, ways
of being in the world as the health and well being of individual human
beings are being placed on equal par with the earth’s material resources
and assets. Any organization, etc must be aligned with the vision of soul
making as their guiding principle and operational structure. The good
news is that more corporations, governments, and institutions (Capricorn)
are turning a previously blind eye toward the Green Movement and the development
of human resources.
Increasingly, there is a worldwide movement that recognizes that we are
all in this together, which helps to transcend nationalistic boundaries
and develop a vision of a global family. We are all one.
2) A New Humanity: Capricorn, the earth mother and Cancer,
the personal mother, comprise the parental axis and by extension our ancestral
lineage. Pluto’s entry into Capricorn will necessitate a cleansing
of the entire ancestral line of any and all traumas and abuses. The opening
statement of My body is my earth. As I heal my body, I heal my earth,
points toward this innate, natural though forgotten connection between
earth and the physical body (the earth element). Before we incorporate
our visions onto the earth (Capricorn), we have to clear the physical
body of wounds, injuries, insults, tensions and deficiencies that we inherited
from our parents and our culture.
Pluto literally means hidden treasure. By encountering the disowned, shadowed,
soul wounding of our lineage, we recover all the treasures that have been
lost or repressed. Many of us are already involved in this work healing
ourselves from repetitive Soul wounds passed on from generation to generation.
This results in the restoration of the body to its natural state. We acquire
or reclaim the Original Body of Life.
3) A New Earth: The mysteries of Mother Earth will need
to be honored and embraced during these transitional times. There will
be hell (Pluto) to pay if we continue to destroy the earth and by extension
our bodies and live as destructive parasites off our gracious hostess.
Gaia has her own ley lines, archeo-astronomy locations, such as Stonehenge
in England, one of many such sites, sacred groves and power vortices.
Already the earth’s core frequency is shifting to a higher vibration,
moving from roughly 7.8 cps in 1992 to over 11 cps currently. This vibrational
shift is causing a similar shift in the cellular structures (Pluto rules
the cellular matrix) of our bodies. We are entering uncharted territory
here, yet one foretold in many ancient and indigenous prophecies.
With Pluto’s entry into Capricorn, the Soul (Pluto) will necessarily
become aligned with Gaia and begin the alchemical process of reanimating
our self and the world with her mysteries. For those of us who have learned
the higher truths of Sagittarius this will be a welcomed task. We can
incorporate the truths gleaned from the Sagittarian vision quest and thereby
engage ourselves in building (Capricorn) a New Earth.
The popularity of Al Gore, a prominent political figure (Saturn) and his
winning the Nobel Peace Prize speaks eloquently and loudly to this rising
tide of mass consciousness (Pluto) and the restructuring of the earth
according to natural, sacred law and order (Capricorn/Saturn). Not so
coincidentally Gore’s chart has strong Sagittarian and Capricornian
themes. His Moon, core intelligence, is at three degrees of Capricorn.
We can expect his influence to grow larger in the next couple of years
as Pluto transits the early degrees of Capricorn. And one of the ruling
planets in his chart is Jupiter in Sagittarius at 28 degrees, where Pluto
is currently located.
Is it any wonder that Gore was accorded the Nobel Prize and attained international
acclaim for his vision of the world when Pluto was in close proximity?
Jupiter by the way rules publishing and international relations! And his
Jupiter is one degree away from the Heart of the Galaxy at 27 degrees
of Sagittarius! Will wonders never cease?
"I believe that our civilization is addicted to the consumption
of the earth itself. This addictive relationship distracts us from the
pain of what we have lost: a direct experience of our connection to the
vividness, and aliveness of the rest of the natural world. The froth and
frenzy of industrial civilization masks our deep loneliness for communion…the
price we pay is the loss of our spiritual lives [our souls]. The weakest
and most helpless members of the dysfunctional [human] family become the
victims of abuse at the hands of those responsible for providing nurture.
In a similar fashion, we systematically abuse the most vulnerable and
least defended areas of the natural world.
If the global environmental crisis is rooted in the dysfunctional pattern
of our civilization’s relationship to the natural world, confronting
and fully understanding that pattern…is the first step toward mourning
what we have lost…and coming to terms with the new story of what
it means to be a steward of the earth."
